George A. Frageau, 66, of Vero Beach, Florida, previously of Wolcott, Connecticut, passed away from this life on July 6th, 2023, in the presence of his loving wife in Vero Beach. He was born December 7th, 1956, and is predeceased by his father and mother, George Frageau Sr. & Helen (Snow) Frageau.

George grew up in Wolcott, Connecticut and spent his childhood on Hitchcock Lake and loved traveling with his parents and brother, Jim. They enjoyed many family trips to Daytona Beach, Florida which later inspired him to live out his life-long dream of retiring in Florida with his wife, JoAnn.

Prior to retirement, George served in his early years as a volunteer fireman & an EMT with the volunteer ambulance in the Town of Wolcott and spent 35 years dedicated as a central office technician for AT&T.

George was an avid baseball fan and had a loyal love for the New York Yankees. He was a walking encyclopedia of MLB stats and records and he had a personal goal to see as many baseball stadiums as possible, in which he lived out with nearly annual trips with his brother and nephew.

George’s best years were spent with his wife and soul mate of 12 years, JoAnn, whose cooking he adored. They shared a mutual love for travel, baseball, and the game of golf. They loved to host friends, family, and neighbors at their homes in Oakville and Vero Beach.

In addition to his devoted wife JoAnn and his loving dog Maggie, he is survived by his brother Jim (Christine) Frageau Sr., his brother-in-law Jay (Vicky) St. John, his nephew Jason (Kate) St. John, his nephew Jim Frageau Jr., nieces Cassandra (Zachary) Gladding, & Alexa (Anthony) Piscitello, along with beloved great-nephews, cousins, friends & neighbors.

George’s family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the community of Brae Burn Estates for all their love and support. They would also like to recognize the staff of the Weston Cleveland Clinic for their tireless efforts.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of George can be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.)

A prayer service will be held on Monday, July 10th, 2023, at 2:30pm at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Dear JoAnn, you and George were wonderful neighbors and are dear friends. It is sad that George suffered from various medical conditions these past few years. He was such a trouper through it all. You were the best caregiver ever. Our hearts break to know what you are going through now. We will visit as soon as we get back and you are ready. We love George and believe he is at peace now that his medical trials are over. Please know that we are wrapping you in our loving prayers. God Bless you. Take care of yourself please. Leslie and I are so broken hearted at the loss of George. From the time we first met at ECC we forged a wonderful friendship. The two of you have always been so special to us. Over the past few weeks George and I had our normal lighthearted conversations about life, but, also some very serious conversations about life, given all that he was dealing with at the time. George was a fighter, an optimistic and he lived life to its fullest. I loved him like a brother and will miss him so very much. JoAnn….Leslie and I are here for you. Anything you need that we can do…..just let us know. Much love….

JoAnn, Peggy and I are so sorry for your loss. We remember the good times we had at the Club Cafe. We had concert night at our homes and played a concert dvd at very high volume levels and we loved it. George and I would agree that the Eagles concert was the best. We liked watching Yankee games and enjoyed the wins and suffered the losses together. George was a brother to us and it was my honor to be his Best Man at his wedding to JoAnn in Ft. Lauderdale on the beach. George you will be missed very very much.
