Don Jerry Fink, age 83, of Vero Beach, FL went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2023, surrounded by his family. Don was born in Crab Orchard, West Virginia, to Kelice and Geneve Barnes Fink on May 22, 1940.
Don was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1958. He served his country in the United States Army and took great pride in being a paratrooper in the elite 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. After his military service, he moved to Melbourne, FL in 1962, where he owned and operated a Standard Oil-Chevron Service Station in the town of Indialantic. In 1977, he sold the service station and relocated to Vero Beach, where he transitioned into the car industry.
A lifelong car enthusiast, Don’s passion for automobiles began in his teenage years. He was an avid drag racer at the Orlando Speed World Dragway. In his later years, he found joy in traveling by motorcycle along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Don had a wide array of hobbies, including restoring antique cars, playing golf, traveling in his motorhome, and collecting and restoring old clocks.
Don cherished his community at Cornerstone Christian Church and valued his time with the men’s Bible study group.
Don is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Marie Fink, and is lovingly remembered by his daughters Lisa (Scott) Lambeth, Lana (Greg) Harp, and Lena (Matt) Hayward. He was a proud grandfather to Adam Lambeth, Andrew Lambeth, Justin Harp, and Chancellor Hayward. Don also leaves behind his beloved dog, Lily. He is survived by the mother of his children, Betty Fink Wolfe.
Don enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandsons, creating cherished memories. Don’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
