Arlene Marie Baldwin Velasco, age 61, of Vero Beach, passed away Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born in Morristown, New Jersey and moved to Fort Lauderdale at the age of 2.
Arlene was a former volunteer of Meals on Wheels.
She was a graduate of Northeast High School, Oakland Park, FL.
Arlene is survived by her life partner, Jeanie Ledford; daughters, Christina Moccio (Duane) and Adriana Velasco; grandchildren, Ayana, Christian, Isabella, and Vincenzo; sister, Linda Stewart; her beloved dog, Maggie; and an abundance of dear friends and family.
Arlene was predeceased in death by her father, mother, and late husband, Arturo.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach, FL.

Prayers for you all. I met Arlene years ago on a cruise that resulted in our long distance friendship. She fought hard and long with courage strength, and faith. May God give you comfort in knowing she is at peace and without pain. I will always remember her and her joy for life.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mother was a special person. I have some wonderful memories as a child coming as a family to visit her in Florida from New Jersey. What fun we had swimming in her pool! Also was lucky enough to see her in the last couple of years on her trips here in Jersey. I’m so very sorry about the passing of such a wonderful person. Arlene will always hold a special place in my heart. Such wonderful memories going down to FL and spending Spring break with her, Linda, Aunt Marie and Uncle Bill. Good times that will live on in memory forever. Godspeed my sweet cousin and friend.

My sincere condolences to the family. I met Arlene years ago at MidFlorida Credit Union and we immediately connected. She was such a loving positive individual who kept her chin up through everything she went through. Loved her spirit, kindness and laughter. She was not only my “member” but a beautiful friend.
