I met John in the first few days of moving to Florida. In fact, he hired my husband on the week-ends pumping gas and helped us stay afloat. Our families soon became friends and our children grew up together. We were all busy with life, but always stayed in touch. Even after my family loaded up and moved back to Georgia 15 years later, eventually divorced and lived in separate towns…..John and Emilie always made a point to visit us. Our friendship has never weakened over the approximately 40 years. They’ve been a non-stop cheering section, a bright light in the darkness and rode in on “White Horses” more times than I can count, ALL without judgement, BUT instead with genuine love and kindness. Oh, how blessed I’ve been to have them in my life. Emilie will forever be a bright star in the darkness and a true friend to me. I’ll miss you for now buddy, but will see ya real soon. Until then, could you kiss my grandson for me. Love you forever my friend.
