Laura Pauline Fox, loved by all who knew her, passed away on July 27, 2024, in Vero Beach, Florida. At 96, she lived a full life and loved spending time with her family and friends, playing card games, and listening to music. She particularly enjoyed dancing. If she heard a tune that struck her fancy, she would jump up and dance around the room. Laura danced for hours at her grandchildrens’ weddings well into her 90’s
Laura was born in Meriden, Connecticut to Italian immigrants. Her father, Paul Spinelli, was from Ceccano, a small hilltop village south of Rome. Her mother, Laura (Adorno) Spinelli, was from Belvedere, a small village outside of Siracusa, Sicily. Laura was very proud of her Italian heritage.
She and her husband, Edward Fox, married in 1947. They raised their family in Meriden where she worked at the Meriden City Hall as the Assistant Tax Collector until her retirement. She and Ed relocated to Jupiter, Florida to be closer to her parents, her siblings, and two of their sons. Laura and Ed were married for 65 years.
Laura is survived by her three sons – Gary, Ken, and Tim; two daughters-in-law – Lil and Karen; five grandchildren – Megan, Ryan, Tyler, Kevin, and Seana; and seven great grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fox, and a beloved grandson, Logan Fox. Of her four siblings, she is survived by her dear sister, Pauline Erling.
Her body was cremated and will be interred with her husband at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. The family plans to hold a celebration of her life at a later date for family and close friends.
