Becky Lorraine Currey Durdak, age 70, passed away September 19th, 2024, surrounded by her children at the VNA Hospice House.

Becky was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1953, moved to Northfield, New Jersey in 1964 and then lastly made the move to Vero Beach, Florida in 1988.

She began her career in education and earned her Associate degree in Childhood Education Psychology from Atlantic Cape Community College in June 1988.  She was a Pre-K teacher for many years until she made the courageous leap and decided to pursue nursing.  Her mother was a nurse and always said that she was her inspiration in making that change.  Becky received her Certified Nursing Assistant license in 1992 and went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing license in 2001.

Becky is survived by her husband, Frank Durdak, her mother, Peggy Currey, sister, Melissa (David) Currey, her brother, David (Melanie) Currey, her children, Eric (Lisbeth) Krakowski, Matt Krakowski, Kristy (Chris) Sanders and her grandchildren, Mia, Colin, Jesslie and Nicholas.

She is predeceased by her father Earl J. Currey (2003) and her brother Earl J. Currey Jr. (1962).

Becky was a beloved daughter, a cherished wife, a dedicated mother, a proud sister, a loving grandmother (Nana) and a dedicated nurse.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00am-12:00pm, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

I have some great memories of family visits while I was growing up. Wishing we could be there for her service, but please know that we will be thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Sorry to hear about the passing of Becky, she was a jewel to me. We worked together at a nursing facility she was a caring nurse and cared about her coworkers. RIP Becky gone but never forgotten
