It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father James Joseph Coggins, who left us on September 27th, 2024. He was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, and his absence will be felt profoundly.  Our father graduated from Scranton Preparatory School in 1975 and then pursued his bachelor’s degree in building construction technology at Penn State University, graduating in 1981. Our dad was a highly respected engineer whose career spanned over 35 years. Throughout his remarkable career, he contributed to expansive projects, demonstrating his dedication to excellence and innovation.

Born on March 28th, 1957, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, he is survived by his two loving daughters, Ashley Lynn Kline, Christa Lynn Coggins; and his cherished grandchildren, Paul, Nicole and Brandon. We take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on in us and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dad was our greatest supporter. He taught us the importance of hard work, resilience, and an absolute need for a beach vacation every summer. From our earliest memories of him taking us to job sites to wear the white hard hat, to his unwavering support at every milestone, he always made us feel valued and loved. Even when we yelled at him to stop screaming our name at softball games.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday October 26, 2024, at Enola First Church of God at 9 Sherwood Drive Enola, PA 17025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children in his memory.

Dad, we love you and will carry your spirit in our hearts forever.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
