Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Betsy Elaine Johnson, age 79 of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024.
She was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania on December 3, 1944 to the late Lester and Faye Hicks.
Betsy was a devoted mother and wife and was loved by all. When she wasn’t doting on her husband and grandson, she had a passion for reading and gardening. If you had to guess where she was, during the day she was probably out in the yard meticulously pruning her many flowers and trees. After the sun went down and there was no light left to see in her yard, she would go inside, open up her Kindle, and pick up where she left off in her book of choice (lastly One Wild Knight: A Medieval Romance by Katheryn Le Veque)!
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Hicks.
Betsy is survived by her husband, Jim Johnson; children: Christine Cornelison, Julie Webster and her husband Patrick, and Scott Johnson; grandchildren: Brooke Webster, Dillian Barbeau, Colby Cornelison, Justin Webster, and Colton Johnson; brothers: Jim Hicks, Ed Hicks, and David Hicks; sister: Sally Wisniewski and her husband Jim; and her many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Service to be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pathway Church, 1105 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida 32966.
In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA Hospice House would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Dear Jim, Christine, Julie, Scott and families, I’m so sorry for the loss of one of my favorite cousins. Betsy was such a fun and special woman. She loved with her whole heart. I will always remember her hot fudge peanut butter sauce that she would make any time I came to visit. May God our Father comfort your hearts with the peace of Christ and may Betsy Rest In Peace in His Perpetual light. Love , Jeannie and Denny
