It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of True Anne Price, a kind and free-spirited soul who touched countless lives through her generosity and passion for helping others. True dedicated her life to taking care of troubled teenagers, offering them guidance, love, and a sense of belonging. Her home was a safe haven for many, and her stubborn determination ensured that she never gave up on anyone.

True was a force of nature in more ways than one. She had more tools than any man you’d ever meet, and she knew how to use every single one of them. Whether she was fixing something with her hands or mending a wounded heart, True’s skills were endless. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by the peace and beauty of the wilderness, her spirit most alive in the heart of nature. The woods were where she found her solace, where she could be truly herself—free, untamed, and deeply connected to the world around her.

True was a graduate of Vero Beach High School and furthered her education at the University of Montana. Her love for travel took her around the world, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. True was a music enthusiast who enjoyed attending live concerts of her favorite country and blues bands. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends, gathering extended family members around the world.

True is survived by her brothers, Clay Price (Pam) and Paul Price; her son, Shawn Campbell; her nephew, David Clay Price; and her niece, Alexandra Ryman Horne (Greg), along with their children, Gregory Clay Horne and Austin Joseph Horne. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ryman Price, and her brother, Mark Price.

True leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and the enduring impact of a life spent in service to others. Though she may be gone from this earth, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. Rest in peace, True, as you now become one with the nature you so dearly loved.

A celebration of True’s life will be held at Captain Hiram’s in Sebastian on November 2, 2024, at 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters or any children’s charity of your choice, honoring True’s commitment to the well-being of others.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral & Crematory, Vero Beach.

True was my confidante, my go-to person, my hero when I worked at Gifford Middle School. She would drop everything and come help whenever I needed her expertise. She was one in a million! I cannot believe she has left this earth, but many young girls were better because of her! She gave them hope. She gave them strength. She gave them unconditional love and support throughout their stay at Hibiscus House. I am very sad you are gone, True, but know you made a HUGE impact on my life and I will love you forever! RIP my friend

True was an incredible lady with a heart of pure gold. The love she had for everyone was evident in all that she did and she will be missed so much. I enjoyed getting to know her over the years and spending time with her, both at work and outside of work hours. She was tireless in her journey to reach and help troubled teens and she never gave up or stopped loving each one of them. I will miss seeing True and spending time hearing her kayaking stories, travel stories, and playing darts and catching up.
