Read with sadness about the death of Tom Peschio – but also with happy and fond memories of working with Tom to address substandard housing in Omaha. Tom was a part of our great Agape group of friends who, together, brought various experience and prospectives to address community redevelopment objectives. Tom was always a great friend and always committed to finding out how to get an idea to work (as apposed to why it couldn’t be done.) RIP Tom and our love to Judy and their wonderful family. So many fond memories! Love, Vicki and Dave Krecek, Omaha

Hi Judy: I just noticed Tom’s obit in the Omaha World Herald today (December 29). I wanted to offer my condolences to you. Tom was CEO of Government Properties Trust, LC when I worked for him. He was the best boss I ever worked for and that spans a 35 – 40 year career in finance working for Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc. in Omaha and other firms in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He always had a great quip or some kind words to add in almost any situation (at work or play). I enjoyed being around him and can’t imagine what you must be going through. Frankly, I can’t believe he’s gone, and I know the shock is even greater for you. I hope memories of the happy times you had together can be of some comfort during this incredibly difficult time. My wife Debbie and me offer you the very best and hope that time will bring you and family some peace in the very near future. Rest in Peace Tom! We will miss you.

Just last week I asked a mutual friend about Tom. I’m certainly saddened by the news and am sure he will be as well. In 1995 I returned to Omaha with my young family after 15 years living out of market. I met Tom at Pacific Realty and transitioned with him to the Lund Company. New to the Omaha real estate industry, Tom took me under his generous wings, had me join many meetings and introduced me to, what seemed like the entire City of Omaha. He understood immediately that I wasn’t a fit as a traditional commercial real estate broker and didn’t try to square-peg / round-hole me. Instead he brought me into situations where I could listen, learn, ask, and occasionally (but often enough) create an assignment for myself. Judy, please forgive me, I don’t recall ever meeting you. But, I certainly knew of you, particularly as Tom and I put together the FCSAmerica corporate office project. That, and the retail overhaul strategy, remain highlights of my career and built relationships that remain today. More importantly, it defined and framed my skillset, allowing me to build a professional life that has served my family well. Though we hadn’t seen each other for many years, Tom was always in my thoughts as a wise and selfless mentor. With heartfelt condolences, Tim

Dear Judy and Family, I just read of the loss of Tom. He was without a doubt the best mentor and leader I have ever had. I’ll never forget him giving me advice in his office at the Lund Company and then again when he worked at Govt Properties. He pushed me to do more and annually checked in on me and my family. I will always remember him fondly. He will be missed by many. Prayers to your family. Michelle Gibilisco
