Nancy Louise Coyle (Haight) peacefully passed away at her home in Vero Beach, Florida on May 7, 2025.

Nancy was born in Avis, PA on January 1, 1938, The New Years’ baby that year! She was showered with special gifts & celebrations!

Nancy was married and survived by her husband William F. Coyle. Bill and Nancy were married for 54 blissful years! I would like to say that he was her first true love but, in reality, it was Penn State Football. Nancy started going to Beaver Stadium for games in 1966 with her little sister, Deborah Haight, who also survives her. She was there for the first “wave” and had many sips from the gin bucket. She knew stats, championship years, who the players were … Even when she wasn’t sure who or where she was, she would rattle off the name of a quarterback from 50 years ago. Needless to say, she was a huge sports fan. She was an avid tennis player for the past 30 years. You could see her scooting around in her little red sports car at Timber Ridge Tennis Club. Maybe looking for Rafa Nadal, her tennis crush!! On Friday nights, you would find her and Bill (on the visitors’ side) of the bleachers, cheering on the Vero Beach High School Football team! She would record all of the sporting events and watch stuff over and over. Once, she wanted out of the hospital so badly, just so she didn’t miss the Penn State wrestling championship. Don’t even think of stepping foot in her house for a visit when a big game was on.

Nancy has 5 children. Steve Wert (Lori Sue), Cathy Guinn (The Brit), Lori Ward (Terrance Hillian, Jr.), Robert Wert (Karen Mazzotta), Noreen Wert (Buddy Wert). If she passed anything on to her children, it was her hilarious sense of humor. Even in her low moments, she would manage to say something funny. At the age of 26, she became a single mom of 5 children and, with the help of her parents and family, rallied and raised 5 relatively normal kids. We are all so very proud of her (and Bill) for that!!

She was Mimi to 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Michelle Ward, Michael Ward, Haylee Jorgensen, Griffin Wert & Riley Wert. She has 3 great grandchildren, August, Atlas & Teaghan. She loved spending time with them … either on the beach, taking them to Disney, or just hanging out.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Hazel Haight, brother Larry Haight and sister Judy Welshans.

Big shout out to the Hospice organization. We don’t have words to express what an amazing group of people they are! To say they made this process easier, would be an understatement. Bill and the rest of our family greatly appreciate them!

Nancy didn’t want any services. In lieu of that … Please enjoy your families, hug them, tell them you love them and most of all … Laugh with them. Laugh until you wheeze and cry! It is truly the best medicine!

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Noreen and family. I am trying to think of something to say but am at loss for words to comfort you. One memory I do have that puts into context the type of person your mother was, is when I was 17 and pregnant. At a time of much confusion and uncertainty in my life…you and your mom had a baby shower for me and it was one of the brightest spots in that 9 month period. Being a pregnant teen at that time still had a stigma attached to it but your mother was very accepting. My mom (God bless her soul) was a staunch Catholic and tried to hide me from everyone because of what people might think, amongst other hardships . You and your mom made me feel like I mattered. You are so much like her Noreen. ❤️
