Nancy Lincoln Hughes, beloved wife of Richard Hughes, passed away on May 13, 2017 surrounded by her family’s love, she was 87 years old.
Nancy was born on February 11, 1930 in Canandaigua, New York where she met her husband at the 4-H Camp by the “big tree.” They were married October 2, 1948 and settled on their farm in Sandusky, New York, until they moved to Vero Beach, upon Nancy’s retirement from Motorola in 1987.
They had 5 children, Bill Hughes of Vero Beach, Terry (Lois) Hughes of Cobbleskill, NY, Tim (Norma) Hughes of Perry, NY, Judy (Dan) Pooley of Bridgman, MI, and Debbie (Paul) Welch of Sandusky. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Mary Yon of Vero Beach and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Henry Douglass and Beulah Lincoln; brother, John Lincoln and sister, Caddy Alkenburg.
A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m., on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Kings Baptist Church, Vero Beach.
Inurnment will be at Sandusky Cemetery, in the near future.
