Rachael Jane Batts, 84, passed away on June 17, 2017, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
She was born in West Frankfort, Illinois and lived in Vero Beach, Florida since 1988.
Ms. Batts was retired. She enjoyed her many years of work as a Child Therapist at Christian County Mental Health District in Taylorville, Illinois.
She was a member of the Methodist church and enjoyed reading and writing. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women.
Rachel received her Bachelor’s at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, her Master’s at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and her PHD in Special Education, primarily for emotionally disturbed children, from St. Louis University.
She is survived by her husband, Don Batts; sons, Steven Souers, Mark Souers, and Jud Souers; her brother, Bob; sister, Mary Ellen, and many grandchildren.
