Elizabeth Marie (Greve) Julson
Elizabeth was born on July 6, 1956, and passed away on September 2, 2025, age 69, at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. She grew up in rural Mt. Horeb, WI and loved being outdoors, riding her horses and mowing the expansive lawn. During her teenage years she did some skiing at nearby Tyrol Basin. She graduated from Mt. Horeb High School in 1974 and spent a year attending UW Oshkosh. As an adult Elizabeth enjoyed reading, gardening, and even being outdoors in the snow, whether shoveling/blowing, making snow angels, or jumping into snow drifts!
Elizabeth married Brian Lee Julson Sr on July 19, 1980. They had one son, Brian Lee Julson Jr on September 19, 1981.
For several years she worked at the popular rural Mt. Horeb restaurant, The Homestead, that her parents opened in the farmhouse where she grew up. Subsequently she was employed for 18 years at American Family Insurance in Madison, first at the call center and then in the Glass Department as a Claims Technician. She retired in 2016.
Growing up, Elizabeth attended Mt. Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Horeb and later was a member of the Bristol Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie, WI. She loved the Lord and believed in Him with her whole heart. Her faith was a large part of her life. She taught Sunday School and Confirmation while at Bristol. Her favorite song was Beautiful Savior.
Survivors include her brother, Steven Greve, Vero Beach FL, sister, Susan Speth (Fred Brown), Cambridge WI, nephew Robert Speth (Kristen) and their children Jacqueline and Russell, Denver, CO, and nephew Andrew Greve, Austin TX. Nieces Tammy (Tim) Pirkel of Watertown and their children: Ashley and Brittney, and Lori (Bill) Smith of Lake Mills and their children: Jena, Cassy, Trey and Karissa, and Jan Julson of Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Frances (Gent) Greve, her husband, Brian in 2012 from cancer, her son Brian Jr in 2021 from complications of M.S., and her sister-in-law Marcia Greve from cancer.
At Elizabeth’s request, there will be no service or celebration of life.
Elizabeth’s ashes will be buried with her husband and son at the German Valley Cemetery, Blue Mounds, WI at a future date.
