Joseph Raoul Theriault, age 83, passed away February 20, 2026, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born August 27, 1942, in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late Raoul and Eleanor Theriault.
Joe was a proud 1960 graduate of South Hadley High School in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Throughout his working years, he built a strong reputation as a dedicated restaurant manager before later transitioning into the insurance field, where his reliability and people-centered approach were well known.
In 1980, Joe and the great love of his life, his wife Bevelon, made the move to Vero Beach, Florida, where they managed Swenson’s Ice Cream Shop. Their time there reflected Joe’s natural gift for hospitality and his enjoyment of serving others, traits that defined much of his life.
Joe was a faithful and active member of King’s Baptist Church for more than 27 years. He generously gave his time and talents through the Insurance Team, Christmas programs, and the Kitchen Committee, always willing to step in wherever help was needed. His service was marked by humility, kindness, and a quiet dependability that so many came to appreciate.
Joe was widely known for his love of cooking and especially for his homemade smoked cheese, which he joyfully shared with family, friends, and church members alike. An outstanding cook and a generous soul, Joe found happiness in bringing people together. Above all, his greatest joy was his beloved Bevelon, whom he loved deeply, supported faithfully, and shared a lifetime of laughter and companionship with.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Bevelon Johnson Theriault; son, Stephen Michael (Shelia) Wall; grandsons, Devon McMann and Josey Wall; granddaughter, Delaney McMann; brothers-in-law, Nolan Johnson and Steve Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Desnoyers and sister, Claire (Jerry) L’heureux.
