Elizabeth Ferguson Peters, 64, of Vero Beach, Florida went to Heaven on March 21, 2026. Elizabeth was born in Miami, Florida on March 18, 1962, to Ferguson Edgar Peters and Gayle Shaw Peters. She was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and attended Florida Oaks School. She graduated high school from Chatham Hall School for Girls in Chatham, Virginia. She continued her education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Highpoint University in Highpoint, North Carolina and then received her teacher certification from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
As a child, Elizabeth loved to swim and was an excellent swimmer. She enjoyed ballet and performed as a mouse soldier in Nutcracker. She was a happy camper for numerous summers at Camp Merrie-Woode in Sapphire, North Carolina.
Elizabeth had a quick wit and a jolly laugh. She had a keen sense of humor and was a wonderful conversationalist. Everyone loved talking with Elizabeth and she would always listen with care, offering wise advice. She was an avid reader, cat lover and a computer whiz.
Elizabeth was a devout Christian lady and her strong faith in Jesus guided and protected her throughout her life. Elizabeth was a wonderful big sister and a good friend. Anyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing Elizabeth loved her. She will be greatly missed but Heaven gained an angel.
Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Gayle Shaw Peters; brother, Fred Peters and his wife, Angela Peters, sister, Emilie Irma Peters; brother, Ferguson Peters; nephew, Freddy Peters; niece, Kristin Mori and her husband, Kouichiro Mori; niece, Katherine Peters; great nieces, Leina and Mina Mori.
A private family service will be held at First Presbyterian Church to honor Elizabeth.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
