It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Debora Elizabeth Holmes, who passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on September 13, 1958, in Oswego, New York, and later relocated with her family to Vero Beach, Florida, where she built a life centered around love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Debbie dedicated over 25 years of her life to her work at Grove Place Surgery Center. She loved her job, and all her coworkers who became great friends over the years. Even after being diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in 2024, she continued to work full-time throughout her treatment, demonstrating extraordinary strength and perseverance.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children. She is survived by her five children: Christopher David Holmes, Stephanie Elizabeth Long (Jake Long), Debora Patricia Sofield, Dale Earnhardt Holmes, and Shawnna Robin Seither (Don Seither). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Brittany Long, Hailey Holmes, CJ Holmes, Lauren Sofield, Liam Sofield, Lawton Sofield, Theodore Seither, Ramona Holmes, and Eleanor Seither, each of whom she loved deeply. She also leaves behind her best friend Jamie Carter, who Debbie called her “soul sister.”
No formal service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society in Debbie’s memory.
Debbie’s legacy of love, strength, and selflessness lives on in the family she cherished so deeply. She will be forever loved and profoundly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing. I admire her for her resilience and passion with whatever her mind was set on. She was a fighter. She will be missed.

Debbie and I go way back to high school in Oswego. She was my last friend from then and I will miss her dearly. Until we meet in heaven RIP

My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren. She was a beautiful loving person inside and out. I only met her a few times, and knew she was a great person. I love you . My regret is not coming to visit you.

RIP Debbie I only new you in person as a teen and young person and then later you found me on Facebook. You babysat my son and lived down stairs from me in my 1st apartment. I remember a very nice person your mom and Dad too. Very sorry to all the family and friends.
