Lawrence Daniel Smith, 83, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Vero Beach.
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Larry was the son of the late Daniel and Jennie Smith. He dedicated much of his professional life to the hospitality industry, spending the majority of his career as Food & Beverage Director at Miami Jai‑Alai, where he was respected for his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Larry was a devoted father and a proud family man. He was deeply caring and selfless, having lovingly taken care of his elderly mother in her later years.
He found great joy in cooking, playing tennis, watching baseball, and, most of all, spending time with his family. His warmth, loyalty, and steady presence will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Smith; his children, Rhonda Cunneen, Amber Smith, and Todd Smith; daughter‑in‑law, Kathryn Smith; son‑in‑law, Rob Cunneen; and his beloved grandchildren, Erin Smith, Victoria Smith, and Savanna Smith. He is also survived by his nephews, Brandon Smith and Graham Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2026, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2000 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of simple pleasures, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
