Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Sadly, our beloved Marilyn Bond, 79, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on May 26, 2026 after years of valiantly battling cancer.
Marilyn’s life journey began in Pittsburgh, PA where she was born to Eugene and Ruth Coyle on October 19,1946. From there, life carried her through school and eventually to Boston, where she built a respected career serving as a Clerk for the United States District Courthouse.
Family and dear friends were among the greatest joys in her life. Marilyn leaves behind her beloved partner Jack Gumbleton and his children; Kathy Bowker, John Gumbleton, Jill DeRoehn, and Michael Gumbleton. The many grandchildren; Charlotte, Elle, Addison, Ben, Josh, Jack, Abigail, Kelsey, and great-grandchild Jordan. She also leaves behind her brother Jerry and her sister Ruthie. Additionally, Marilyn leaves behind a brokenhearted group of relatives, including cousins, a niece, and countless treasured friends.
Marilyn was a big personality in a small package. Her legacy will not be measured only in years lived, but in the way she lived. She taught us all what can be accomplished with a balance of persistence and kindness. She was courageous, inspirational, loving, funny, and full of joy. Her life was one of unyielding love and generosity. May we honor Marilyn by living with the same grace she so freely showed to others.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on June 5th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 500 Iris Lane Vero Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to VNA & Hospice Foundation,
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

My dear friend of over 30 years. We met in Sandwich Mass. You were such a good friend, always positive and up beat. I admired your strength and faith in God whom you leaned on throughout your life and especially through your cancer diagnosis. Never once did you say why me? I miss you terribly and will try to emulate your grace and faith. I love you dear friend.

My dear friend over 40 years. We worked together at the Federal Courts in Boston, MA. She was full of life, positive and always good for a story that left you gut wrenching laughing. Her shopping excursions were something to talk about and she had a flare for decorating! I will remember many trips to her home on the Cape to spend the day in Sandwich, MA or on the Cape Cod Canal, as well as visiting her and Jack at their home in Vero Beach, FL You fought the battle with positivity, strength, and courage Malsie and I will miss you. May you rest in eternal peace. Love you, Jo
