Sandra Cecilia Durst, 79, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2026.
Sandra was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 11, 1946, to Jerome and Irene Stanishewski. In 1980, she made Vero Beach, Florida, her home, where she spent the remainder of her life building a life filled with family, friendships, and cherished memories.
Sandra retired from Norris’s Famous Place for Ribs in Fort Pierce, Florida, after approximately 25 years of dedicated service. She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm spirit, and the love she had for her family.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Durst; her parents, Jerome and Irene Stanishewski; and her brother, Don Stanishewski.
She is survived by her son, Brian Durst (Jennifer); grandchildren, Kaleigh Patteson (Tyler), Nicholas Nesbit (Lily), and Emily Durst; great-grandchildren, Braeden and Brynleigh Patteson; sister, Nancy Boerner (Richard); nieces, Sonya Stanishewski Bass (Ronnie), Tracey Millili (John), Dayna Sweeney (Tom), Erin Martin, Cecilia Bass; nephews, Derek Millili, Roman Bass; and great-nephew, Liam Sweeney.
Sandra’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

So very sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. We spent many, many fun days/nights at the Banana Boat a ton of years ago. “Miss Irene” was a treasured person babysitting all of the “restaurant” kids. Teaching Lara how to cook Polish dishes and banging the pots and pans on New Year’s Eve! Yours is a special, loving family. Art was a “card” and a great guy. Jerry was a hoot and I remember Don cajoling the kids, too. Peace to all of you.

I have many great memories with Sandy and Art. Lots of laughs and good times with the Howell St. Crew. Sincere condolences to Brian and family, Nancy and Rich. Sandy will be missed. Take care.
