Iris Daniels Pressley, age 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Hidden Lakes Senior Living.

Iris was born on March 12, 1929, in the home of her aunt in Bradley Junction, Florida, to the late Audubon and Nancy Edna Daniels. She lived a long and meaningful life, rooted in family, faith, and a strong connection to the land she called home.

In 1949, Iris earned her associate degree from Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. She and her family were cattle owners in Polk County before moving to Indian River County in 1961. They continued their cattle business in the area for many years, retiring in 1990. Through her years of hard work and dedication, Iris helped build a lasting family legacy.

Her faith was an important part of her life. A longtime member of the Church of God, Iris found joy in serving others as an adult Sunday school teacher and church pianist. Through her teaching, music, and devotion, she shared her faith and touched the lives of those around her.

Iris’s greatest legacy lives on through the family she loved. She is survived by her son, Gary (Sherry) Pressley; her daughter, Shirley (Jack) Pollard; son, and Michael (Angela) Pressley; six grandchildren, Jason (Michael-Brianne), Carrie, Heather, Marsha (Kevin), Jennifer (Nick), and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Leighton, Palsynne, Gracyn, Grady, Ansley, Layla, Melissa, Rebecca, Kaitlyn, Zackary, Trent, Sophia, and Juliette. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, J. Leroy Pressley and sister, Avis Jameson.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.

A private graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Cemetery, with Pastor Derrick West officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA & Hospice Foundation, 920 37th Place, Suite 101, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

May Iris’s memory bring comfort to those who loved her, and may her life of faith, family, and service continue to be a blessing to all who remember her.
