Michael Alan Hayes, 65, passed away on Friday December 9, 2016.
He was born in Fort Pierce, Fl., on October 25, 1951 to Mr. & Mrs. Garland Hayes Jr. He was the 2nd of 4 children. He graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1969 and served in the United States Army as a Nuclear Demolition Specialist.
Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman, airboat driver, alligator wrangler, guitar player, cowboy, cook, woodsman, dog whisperer, story teller, teacher, friend, son, uncle, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He believed in a handshake and a look in the eye. He believed in no nonsense and if he gave you his word, you could take it to the bank. He was as honest as the day is long and even a little more than that.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garland Jr., and Doris Hayes. He is survived by his Aunt, Charlotte Isbill of Altamont Springs, siblings, Steve Hayes(Jill), Janet Lund, Rusty Hayes(Donna), Lynn Fenzau of Vero Beach, his wife, Liz Hayes of Vero Beach, children, Emily Goughler(Shawn) of Chattanooga, TN., Mark Barcelo of Tallahassee and grandchildren, Logan, Claire and Isabella.
