Donna J. McKinny of Vero Beach, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.
She was born in the Mid West, but had traveled the country and world with her husband of 61 years, Lt. Col. Alexander McKinny.
Mrs. McKinny moved to Vero Beach in 1972, coming from San Antonio, Texas.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and also attended St. Helen Catholic Church.
Mrs. McKinny is survived by her daughter, Kathleen McKinny of Vero Beach; daughter-in-laws, Candy McKinny of Vero Beach and Laura McKinny of Winston-Salem, NC; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with 2 more arriving soon.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Alexander McKinny, her beloved sons, Daniel G. McKinny and Thomas P. McKinny and sweet daughter, Mary Jo McKinny. Her sister, Bea Hodapp and both brothers, Donald and Ronald also preceded her.
Mrs. McKinny had many great friends, both here and beyond.
At her request, there will be no Memorial. A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Mass cards be sent, in her name, to Holy Cross Catholic Church or St. Helen Catholic Church, with donations to VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach or charity of your choice.
