Edwin Williams Cameron of Vero Beach, Florida formerly of Needham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully November 11, 2014. Born February 13, 1924 in Baragua, Cuba, he is preceded death by his wife of 62 years Winifred Elise (Williams), parents Edwin Lawson Cameron and Gertrude Elise (Williams) and his brother Ewen Keith Cameron.

Ed earned a Bachelor�s Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Florida and a Masters of Structural Engineering from Northeastern University. He was commissioned as an �overnight wonder� and served in the United States Navy during the WWII as a radar instructor and flew antisubmarine warfare patrols off the Florida coast in PBM flying boats as the radar operator.

Ed�s career spanned more than 40 years at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation in Boston Massachusetts where he started in the drafting room and retired as Senior Vice President, Director of International Operations. He held Professional Engineering licenses in over 20 states. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of Nehoiden Lodge AF & AM in Needham, Massachusetts, a member of Royal Arch Chapter and a Dad Advisor to the Needham Chapter Order of DeMolay. He was a member of the First Church, Christ Scientist in Needham and Vero Beach. He also served on various home owner association and church boards of directors. Ed was someone who saw things that needed fixing and quietly went about doing that; everything from fraternal organizations to home owner associations to countries. He enjoyed making sawdust out of lumber with his Shopsmith power tools creating everything from kitchen cabinets to basketball backboards to garage extensions. No project was ever too big.

He is survived by his two sons: Edwin Bruce his significant other Vickie, of Richmond, Texas, grandchildren Heather Marise and her husband Jeffrey Parnell and great grandchildren Emma, Alex and Ben of Katy, Texas, and grandson Darren Bruce and his wife Mary Beth and great grandchildren Kennedy and Cana also of Katy Texas; son David Brian and his wife Kimberly of Potomac Falls, Virginia, step daughter Jordan Foster of Sterling, Virginia, , grandson Jeffery Edwin and his wife Katherine of Ashburn, Virginia and grandson Christopher Robert of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

A memorial service will be held after the holidays.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane #1, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
