Carol Barbara Houger was born September 7, 1934 in Wenona, IL. She attended Augustana College later receiving a bachelor�s degree from Western Michigan University. She taught 7th grade English and World Geography until the birth of her children. In later life she began a 25 year career as a travel consultant that allowed her to extensively travel the world.
She lived in Holland, MI, moving to Tampa,in 1989 and to Vero Beach in 1993.
She leaves two daughters, Jennifer Rindge of St. Joseph, MI and Judith Eccker of Boyne City, MI and was devoted to her five teenaged grandsons.
Carol was a sustaining member of the Jr. League of Indian River County and actively volunteered at the Indian River Hospital.
Her intelligence, wit and charm will be deeply missed. Service to be held in Michigan in the Spring. No flowers or memorials requested.
