J.C. Griffin, 84, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Saturday, January 19 at VNA Hospice House.
He was born May 6, 1928 in Chipley, Florida and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1976 coming from Ft. Pierce, FL.
J.C. was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.
He was a member of the Medulla Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL. and a member of the Tin Can Sailors Organization.
J.C. worked as General Manager for 17 years with Gracewood Fruit Company.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernice Griffin of Vero Beach; 2 sons; John Michael Griffin of Ft. Pierce, FL and Jason Andrew Griffin of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Jane Ford of Vero Beach; 2 brothers, Buford Griffin of Port St. Joe, FL and Gene Griffin of Freeport, FL; 4 sisters, Catherine Worthington of Chipley, Elvie Hardin of Jacksonville, Paulette Rogers of Port St. Joe, Shirley Street of Panama City, FL; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Lena Ellisor and Orene Rossborough
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26 from 1-2PM at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Vero Beach with a Funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor David Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
