Walton Francis Colburn, 84 of Vero Beach, FL passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was the husband of the late Rose (Calatozza) Colburn.
He was born in Boston, MA on September 5, 1933, a son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Mein) Colburn. He grew up in Ayer, MA and later moved to Cape Cod in 1974.
He was a veteran of the Unites States Army and spent most of his enlistment in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed with Kleen-It in Ayer and later with Frito-Lay, Inc. as the Warehouse Manager in Pocasset, MA where he retired in 1993.
Walt was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and NASCAR fan where in his younger days he did race cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spending summers on Cape Cod.
Walt is survived by his daughters, Rhonda of Coral Springs, FL and Sharon of Coral Springs, FL; four brothers, Ronald of Daytona Beach, FL; Russell of Melbourne, FL; Kenneth of Ayer, MA; Richard of Kerrville, TX; three sisters, Marion of Shirley, MA, Janet of Ayer, MA and Paula of Nashua, NH. He also leaves a grandson, Stephen of Plymouth, MA and two great-grandchildren, Cara of Plymouth, MA and Evelyn of Plymouth, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he is predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Albert and a sister, Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held later this summer on Cape Cod.
