Peggy Sue Stevens, age 87, peacefully passed away September 24, 2019 at her home in Vero Beach, surrounded by loving family.
She was born May 26, 1932 in Dallas, Texas as the first daughter of five girls and two boys to the late Dennis and Zelma Jordan. Peggy enjoyed traveling. During her life she had the opportunity to live in every corner of the State of Texas, in Colorado, Nevada, Saipan, Mariana Islands, and finally settling in Florida.
Peggy was a Christian woman whose goal of her entire life was to be pleasing in the sight of God. She was a homemaker, devoted Wife, and patient Mother. She loved people and never learned the meaning of the word “stranger”. She enjoyed spreading kindness, love, and hugs to everyone she met.
She treasured children and spent much of her life teaching in schools as an assistant. Peggy enjoyed teaching children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and in Boy Scouts. She spent countless hours planning, designing, and creating a myriad of props and projects to help the children better understand the subject of each lesson.
She was an amazing woman. An inspiration and an example to so many people, of how a Christian life is lived. In the end, the love she spent her life sharing to others was returned to her.
Ms. Stevens was a member of Vero Beach Church of Christ.

I love Ms. Peggy so much and yet I did not even know she was near death. I feel so very bad that I did not get together with her when I could. I will miss her more than words! She was one of the best ladies I have ever known and as I told her she was my mentor and I turned to her for advice often. Her sweet words will always be written on my heart always. Everyone loved her from young to old and love radiated from her all the time!! I look forward to being with you in heaven forever Ms. Peggy if God allows me to be forgiven so, I will be able to enter His glory forever!!!

I would tell Peggy, I love you so much. She smiled that radiant smile of love. Yes you have. She was the first to touch my heart at church. Gave me a crocheted dish rag. It was a golden, lovely gift. Just to show she cared. What a wonderful example of a Christian lady. Love you still. Enjoy your reward. Give Fran and my mom a hug.
