Penny became part of the Crowe family by marrying my brother Mike. However, she included me in her married life when needed, because I watched my niece and nephew as she tended to errands and chores for the household. Barely a teen and she trusted me enough with her babies. It worked out well because Michael and Michelle are now grown with families of their own. I left Vero after high school for the military and visited but never stayed for 45 years. In all that time, Penny made time to see me. With her passing, I won’t have the opportunity to “catch up” with the latest events, hear her laugh, or receive her wisdom. I know she has gone to heaven, for it was Penny and Mike that planted the seed for everlasting life in my heart. That seed took root in 2003 when I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. Penny, we will see each other again and I pray to our Lord that he helps Michael and Michelle through this time of grief for the loss of their mother. May God welcome you home with open arms.

I first met Penny when I went to work at Golden River Packing Company. Penny was tasked with training me, an never having set foot in a packing house, I certainly needed training. She was always my “go to” person when a problem arose. Our friendship continued through all the years I worked in citrus and beyond. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.

My dearest Aunt “Pee Pee”….my heart is completely broken. After my mom passed away, you became my second mother. I will never forget our times in Pine Island. I will never forget our trips to the Keys. But mostly, I will never forget your love, your laughter, your gift to bring people up when they were feeling down. I know that you are with mom now “your besty”, and that you are at peace with all of our loved ones. Now, you can always be on Pine Island Time…”Fish on! Fish on!” I LOVE YOU!!! Pattie

Penny was a dear friend, councilor and co-worker. Her mother, Lois, Penny and I worked together for many years at Golden River Packing. We were neighbors, christen pals, shop-a-holics, moms with children and general best buddies. A book could not hold the precious memories that are in my heart. Michael and Michelle you may grieve with so much pride for the wonderful legacy she left for you. Barbara Gibbs
