I remember when Katie was born. What a blessing she was to her family. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend time with her by babysitting when she was a toddler. She was my little buddy and I looked forward to the hours we would spend together. The years passed and she became a lovely young woman. Katie was the light of her father, Jody’s, eyes. She was a joy and then a loyal caregiver to her mother, Ebby, for so many years. She will be missed. May God bless you Katie!

Katie was a wonderful niece. one whom I got to know well over twenty Christmases and other times I spent with her. She was the “light of her mother’s life. She was loved and will be missed.

Katie was in fact a great help to her Mother as she recuperate from several surgeries. She gave selfishly to her role of caregiver, keeping family and friends uptodate. Her death came very quickly and unexpectedly, no one was prepared. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I never had the opportunity to meet Katie although we did exchange emails once. Ebby, I know your heart is broken, but take focus on the wonderful memories you have of her. God be with you and give you peace as only He can give. Steve

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever, we were to each other that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort without the trace of a shadow in it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well. Aunt Elizabeth our thoughts are with you.

Katie was such a lovely human being. I remember so many great times at St Helen’s school – from second grade to 8th grade – lots of chatting up a storm, volleyball and basketball practices and games, Girl Scouts, slumber parties and then on to Vero Beach High School. Katie was so sweet to relatives and friends and I especially appreciate her kindness in recent years to my mom and brother with little “post church chats”. Clearly you are gone way too soon and will be missed.

Katie and I became friends in high school during drama class. She was meant to be on stage. Thirteen years ago she came bounding back into my life and brought so much laughter with her. Every year on my birthday she made sure to send me a birthday wish from Troy Aikman because she knew I was so jealous because she had interviewed him and did an article on him. She will live in my heart forever and I will miss her so very much. Katie I’ll enjoy the grape for both of us until we meet again. Thank you for being my friend.

Katie was a friend. I remember her coming home from the hospital. The first baby I ever saw. I remember her at the beach; her Dad calling her “Beach Baby Bingo”. I remember picking her up from St. Helen’s school with her Mother. I remember her selling tickets for the Harvest Festival. I remember her going off to college and coming back home. I remember asking her to come out to Texas. Katie made me laugh, Katie made me cry and Katie was my Friend. I will always remember Katie. XoXo
