Jim later became a pattern Maker for Peres Pattern Co in Erie, Pa. Farming was always in his blood, not long after fulfilling his commitment to the USMC Jim resumed farming. Whether it was raising 100 plus ducks, dairy cows, or beef he had a strong commitment to farming, while he raised pigs to show at the fair Black Angus were his favorite breed and he showed displayed them at the Waterford Free Fair every year. He was always a busy man, with a strong work ethic, spending countless hours through the years volunteering. As a young man Jim was a Volunteer Fireman with Stancliff Hose Fire Department for 20 plus years and served a term as Fire Chief for the department. He was active in the local 4H serving as a volunteer in the club and served as its leader for a term.
