Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Robert Lewis Voorhees, age 79, passed quickly at home July 3rd of congestive heart failure.
Son of Elwood and Ann, he graduated from East Orange High School and Bloomfield College. He retired from a career in marketing with NJ Bell and Verizon. He loved living in Rumson, NJ, where he enjoyed the beach, tennis, boating, traveling, and spending time with many friends.
Bob and his wife of 51 years, Kathy, raised their two children while living on Pond Road, Rumson: Laura Ann Victoir, now married to Nicolas, and Robert John Voorhees. Bob was blessed by three wonderful Victoir grandchildren: Maxime, Zoé and Téo.
Bob was passionate. Firstly, Bob loved his family and dear friends. Secondly, he delighted in history and was an avid collector of many things.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 495, Memphis, TN 38101.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

We are so sorry for the loss of a wonderful friend. In our younger days we spent many wonderful times with Kathy and Bob. We had great dinners together and spent weekends traveling, eating, laughing and of course the guys were always talking about their jobs at the phone company. We will miss you Bob. May you rest in peace.

Dear Kathy: I am so sorry for your loss. Bob and I had reconnected after a lifetime in between. I enjoyed my chats with Bob these past few years. I am glad that you have the support of your children in this stressful time. Please take care! Ed Rochford

Bob, I’ll miss you very much. We had some great times together, lots of stories, tale-telling trivia, and talk about the car we had, the cars we wanted. Our children and grandchildren.
