Beloved son of Mickey Reichert and Martin Riggs, Michael Jonathan Riggs was taken to Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2022.
A long-time resident of Vero Beach, Michael proudly earned his degree in Criminal Justice and served for several years as a Sheriff’s Deputy for Indian River County. A hard worker with a kind spirit, he was loved by many for his thoughtful attitude towards others and willingness to serve. Having a clever sense of humor, Michael had a keen ability to cheer people up with his quick wit and enormous heart.
Michael will be missed whole-heartedly by so many family and friends, including his most loyal four-legged friend, Sarge. He is survived by his parents, his devoted stepmom Catrine Riggs, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Cheryl Shulock, Uncle John Schulock and his very best friend on earth, Scott Helpling, who stood by Michael through his most challenging times.
The family is so thankful for you Scott and to all of those who loved Michael so very much.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on January 21, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at Abide Calvary Church in Sebastian.

Mike was a great man . Loving,caring and would do anything for you. What a great friend. It was an honor knowing you. I know you are resting in heaven my friend. You lived your life right you are at God’s side right now. Stand talk and proud spread your wings. We will always ❤️ love you Mike . Thanks for being a wonderful friend and person. You will always be in my prayers and thoughts. You will be missed. Love you Buddy.
