Anthony J. Farino, affectionately known as “Tony” by family and friends was born in Jamacia, New York on February 27, 1926.
Tony served in the United States Army’s 235th Engineer Combat Battalion and received many medals and ribbons for serving in WWII, the Asiatic Pacific, European African Middle Eastern Campaigns, and the Philippines.
Tony married his sweetheart, Gloria, who meant the world to him. They lived on Long Island and later moved full time to Florida. They were happily married for 76 years. Over the years Tony enjoyed playing Tennis and Golf.
Tony worked in the family business, Anthony Farino & Sons. Later he worked alongside his brother, Jack, to build Amfar Asphalt Corp. in Kings Park, New York.
Tony is survived by his wife, Gloria and three children Anthony (Tricia), Teresa Lyons, and Loretta Burgess (Cliff), seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Tony was predeceased by his father and mother, Anthony and Laureto, sisters Jennie Hermann, Fanny Bruno, Rose Durso, and his brother Jack.
The legacy of naming a son, Anthony, has continued through Tony’s great grandson.
The Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
