Anthony (Tony) R. Consalo, 89, passed away on April 3, 2025, at the VNA Hospice House after a brief illness.

Tony was born in Mt. Holly, New Jersey on February 29, 1936 to Anthony and Jessie Consalo. Tony honorably served his country from 1955-1957 in the US Army.

Tony served as a General manager for a Buick and Opel dealership in Hackensack, New Jersey for many years before purchasing his own dealership in Connecticut.  He sold the dealership in 1974 and moved to Vero Beach, where he owned and operated Consalo’s Bait and Tackle for 25 years.

Tony loved giving back to his community….a practice he instilled in his family. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, giving more to the world than he took from it.

After retirement, Tony volunteered with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, where his son, Anthony, worked for 28 years before retiring.  He has two grandchildren who are also currently employed there as well.

Consalo is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary, and his daughter, Marie.

Survivors include his three sisters (Marlene, Gloria, and Alice); his sons (Anthony and Marc); his daughters-in-law (Susan and Kara); his grandchildren (Sierra, April, Anthony W., Autumn, Natasha, Anthony M., and Eva); and his dear friends (Charlie Cowie and Maryann Eilbacher).

The family will be holding a private ceremony at a date TBD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, PO Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Tony (Anthony) and family, you have my deepest sympathies. I never met your Dad but having met and known you for many years if you are anything like him then he was a wonderful, kind, caring person.
