Barbara Elizabeth Pozniak was born on March 22, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Salvatore and Mary Baglio. She died in the arms of the Lord on March 1, 2026.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband, Richard Pozniak; sister, Connie Haas; and husband, William Vazquez.

Barbara leaves behind her three children, Adam Pozink (Bobbie), Mary-Lynn Ninesling (William), and RJ Pozniak (Elizabeth); one stepdaughter, Andrea Vazquez (Gilberto); grandchildren, Christian Martin (Steisha), Ana Alvarez (Nicholas), Raul Pozniak, Mary Ninesling Player (Christofer), William Shawn Ninesling Jr. (Ashley) and Tre Pozniak, great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Hallie Ninesling, Zander and John Paul Player. As well as her sister, Carol Davies (Michael), sister Linda Sims (Beauford), and brother Peter Baglio (Patricia), and loving friend Diane Johnson.

Barbara loved to tell stories of attending Catholic school in her youth and of meeting her first husband, Richard. When they were newly married, she commuted into Manhattan to work as a secretary on Fifth Avenue. She often recalls the excitement of working in Manhattan, admiring the store windows during her lunch breaks – especially Tiffany’s.

With Richard, Barbara moved to Long Island, where she supported his ventures in the salvage yard business and shared his love of fishing. She has countless fishing stories and fond memories of the children and teens who spent summers with them on their boat, including her siblings Linda and Peter.

Barbara and Richard moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1969, where they designed and built the home their family has lived in to this day. Barbara’s eyes would light up when speaking about the adventures she shared with her three children. Many of the stories revolve around time spent on the water together. Later in life, Barbara decided to go to college and proudly became a laboratory technician. She loved her work, and continued working at Indian River Hospital after Richard passed away.

Barbara later met her second husband, Bill. Together they often smiled and acknowledged how blessed they were to both have two wonderful marriages. She enjoyed endless travel adventures with Bill, especially cruises which took them all around the world.

A devout Catholic, Barbara lived her faith quietly and fully. She attended daily virtual Mass and weekly in person mass at St. Anastasia Catholic church. Through the years, she has served as a role model who has strengthened the faith of others.

Above all, she was a loving wife and mother. Barbara always spoke of how deeply proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 407 S 33rd St, Fort Pierce, FL 34947. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 North US Hwy 1. Fort Pierce, Florida 34946.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

I am truly sad for your family’s loss. I knew Mrs. Pozniak when I was in grade school with Adam, she was a very sweet and kind person, I’m sure she will be missed greatly. May she rest in peace!!

I was not expecting this at this time, but the end is the same for all of us, when and whether we like it or not. Thinking back on the years I’ve known Adam and the Pozniak’s, I realize I’ve met more of their family and friends than I have of my own. Barbara Pozniak is as much my friend as Adam, and even now I smile (and cringe) at the encounters we’ve had. I’ve always felt her presence was comforting, especially when times felt like they were at their darkest. I appreciated that she was one of the last to say goodbye to my mother shortly before she passed, even though I was denying my mother’s outcome at that time. There is no doubt Mrs. Pozniak will be missed, but I also think there is no doubt she will be waiting for us on the other side, with a welcoming smile and a hand to hold while we laugh about old times and make the rounds with all that have gone before us. My heart is heavy for her friendship and her family, and my thoughts and spirit are with them in this difficult time. Thank you and bless you for your presence and your spirit, Barbara Pozniak.

TO my niece Andrea Vaquez along with the family of Barbara. With our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy, we are so sorry for the loss of your mother and Andrea’s stepmother. I had only met Barbara a few times but she always showed kindness and caring for those around her. May she rest at peace in the arms of our Lord, JesusChrist.
