Barbara Wynne Secor, age 98, of Vero Beach, Florida, died on September 3, 2017 at her home.
Barbara was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1918, the eldest child of Justice Kenneth and Mary Fielding Wynne. She attended local public schools in New Haven and graduated from Connecticut College in 1940. In 1941, she married William J. Secor, Jr. and lived in the Waterbury, Connecticut area for almost 70 years. She spent over 45 summers on Martha’s Vineyard, in Chilmark, Massachusetts, with her many friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband and by her eldest son, William Fielding Secor, as well as by two sisters, Betsey Brown Wynne and Mary Wynne Bohonnon, and two brothers, Kenneth Wynne and John Wynne.
She is survived by her youngest sibling, Louise Wynne Gigon, as well as by five children, Betsey Secor Delaney, John Hoover Secor (Leslie), Barbara Wynne Secor, Gertrude Elizabeth Hardy (Thomas), and Samuel Mason Secor, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service in Chilmark, Massachusetts at a later date.
