Benny Bruce Blanton, age 65, died of natural causes at his home on January 19, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of Vero Beach and of Primitive Baptist faith.
He is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Glinda Blanton; daughters, Sonia (Michael) Dobish of Orlando, Julia (John) Driggers of Vero Beach, Lena (Steve) Frank of Vero Beach; grandchildren, Courtney Frank, Alexander Frank, Brandon Driggers, Jordan Dobish, Brooke Dobish; sisters, Shirley (John) Dingus of North Carolina, Allene (John) Marshall of Vero Beach; sister-in-law, Alice Blanton Williford; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by father, Halton Leon Blanton; mother, Mildred Knowles Blanton; brothers, Timmy Blanton and James Blanton.
With his quick wit, he often said he was �tired� and �re-tired� from his shoe shop and the citrus industry. His love of nature was shared with all of his family. He enjoyed gardening, wildlife, fishing, hunting, and watching sports and current events. His greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Lighthouse Church of God, 1190 27th Avenue in Vero Beach.

Sending love, thoughts and prayers. I have lots of fond memories of Benny growing up. I always thought of him as such a sweet gentle person. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

My husband and I have known Benny for so many years.. It has always been a joy having him for a friend. He became my son’s Father In Law about 23 years ago. He had more love for his family than any man I know and it showed.. He will be very much missed by all who knew him.. Good bye Benny, may you Rest In Peace…..God be with you Glinda, Sonia, Julie, and Lena.. Love you all….R

Sorry to hear of Benny’s passing. Loved him and all the family. I have fond memories of clam bakes when we visited! I know the Lord will give us all peace as we know Benny has entered heaven and now is with many loved ones that have gone on before. Love you all !

Glinda, Sonia, Lena, Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. You all are very dear to me. My heart is breaking for you all. Sonia I can truly say I know just how you feel. Your dad was a very special man. He was sweet, funny and loved you all very much. I will be praying that God will comfort you.
