Billie Wayne Farris, 88, of N. Hutchinson Island, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2026, after a life well lived.
He was born in Fort Meade, Florida, on January 23, 1938, to J.C. and Alvenia Farris, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Watson.
Billie graduated from Fort Meade High School in 1956. Afterward, he received a football scholarship to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force in military intelligence, where he was stationed in Alaska and Texas.
In 1968, Billie launched his State Farm Insurance Agency in Winter Haven, Florida. His illustrious 54-year insurance career included numerous awards and achievements as one of the top State Farm agents in the country, before retiring in 2022.
Billie was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved his original Ping Eye 2 irons and his Viking fishing boats, all named The Kid. He was a lifelong and loyal Gator football fan, attending home and away games with his dear friend, Sam Killebrew.
As an owner of Camp Mack River Resort, Billie spent many years airboating and speckled perch fishing with close friends. He also spent many miles cruising on his Harley Custom Road King with a trip to Laconia Bike Week in New Hampshire.
Billy was a committed member of the Elks and Sertoma Clubs and actively supported numerous community organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Farris; his sister, Gayle Stephens; his son, Brad Farris (mother, Leaine Farris); his stepsons, Kristopher Poling (Kim) and Adam Poling (Jennifer); his stepdaughter, Dr. Samantha Reiman (Chris); and his grandchildren, Kira Farris, Vyolette Poling, Ella Reiman, and Penelope Reiman.

This is a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man who accomplished so much in his lifetime. His sense of humor was infectious, and he truly touched the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. I know there is a special place in heaven for Billie.
