Carl (Stu) Stewart of Vero Beach, passed away on May 15, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born on November 27th 1926 in Springfield IL and has been a resident of Indian River County for 18 years.
Stu joined the Navy in 1945 and saw combat in WWII. He made the Navy a career retiring in 1974 as a Master Chief Petty Officer.
Survivors include his wife Jo, daughter Michele Viar and husband Stephen, son Carl Stewart 11 and his wife Shannon and grandchildren Connor and Brody Stewart, Jake, Nick and Devon Viar.
A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church on Tuesday, May 20th at 11 am.
Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
