Carol Louise Eakins, age 82, of Vero Beach, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital following a brief illness.

Carol was born January 15, 1940, in New Eagle, Pennsylvania to parents, Vincent A. and Margaret J. Fields Eckels.

She was of a “Class of 1958” graduate of Monongahela High School, Monongahela, PA.

Carol, of Christian faith, worked as a cook and retired in the early 1990’s from the infamous St. Anne’s Convent, of Melbourne, Kentucky, where memorable scenes from the movie “Rain Man” were shot in May of 1988.  Carol always enjoyed sharing this bit of trivia with folks she met.

She moved to Vero Beach in 2009, coming from Newport, Kentucky.

Carol is survived by her sister, Peggy Ward; nephew, Billy Klingensmith, niece, Arhonda T. Guinn; and numerous nephews, great nephews, and nieces of Washington, PA.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Charles E. Eckels.

Private services will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh, PA.
