Charles Edward Hendrix, Jr., age 89, of Vero Beach, FL., passed away March 25,2024 at Lila Doyle Care Center in Seneca, SC.
He grew up in Goldsboro, NC and West Palm Beach, FL.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1954-1958, serving as a corpsman with the 2nd Marine Division. He was a graduate of the University of Florida Forest Ranger School in Lake City, Florida. He raised his family in Ft Pierce, Florida where he worked at the US Postal Service and also managed several business properties for his father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Margaret Rosemont Hendrix; his sister, Agnes Davis of Belmont, NC and his beloved wife of 64 years, Louise Zschieschang Hendrix.
He is survived by his children, Catherine Hendrix Cross, Mark Edward Hendrix, Ben Allen Hendrix and Paul Eric Hendrix and grandson, Lyle Austin Hendrix.
He will be interred beside his father in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
