Charles Oscar Rose, Jr., passed away on November 29th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Charlie was born in Philadelphia on August 7th, 1952 to Patricia Barns and Charles Oscar Rose, MD. The oldest of four, he grew up with his brother, John, and sisters, Susan and Margaret in Newtown Square, PA. Charlie attended the Haverford School where he met many of his lifelong friends.

Charlie left Pennsylvania in 1970 for Marietta College in Ohio. While at Marietta, he founded Rose Productions, booking legendary bands such as Fleetwood Mac, The Byrds, and the Allman Brothers.

Charlie met his wife, Deborah Fischer Rose, while sorting through records in his dorm. They dated for three years before getting married in 1975, and went on to celebrate 50 years of marriage this past July. In those years, Charlie and Debbie traveled, played many rounds of golf, and tended to their garden and backyard wildlife sanctuary. Most importantly, they raised two cherished children, Tyler and Alexandra. They built communities in both New Canaan, CT and Vero Beach, FL.

Charlie loved nothing more than to watch his children play sports. His presence was unwavering, as evidenced by the path of sideline grass he wore down to mud during their lacrosse and soccer games. He put endless miles on his car, driving hours into the night, to see Tyler and Alexandra play. Charlie shared his extensive collection of 60s and 70s rock with them, passing down his knowledge on their many car trips.

Charlie also had a full and successful career, working for 40 years in the oil transportation

industry in Philadelphia, New York City, and Stamford, CT. He was revered by colleagues as both a businessman and a trusted friend.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Charles, his parents in-laws Nancy and Christian, his sister, Margaret, brother-in-law, Phil, sister-in-law, Mary Jo, and his friends John ‘Jumper’ Dautrich and Thomas Spellane.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, children, Tyler (Meredith Hubble) and Alexandra (Pete Higgins), his grandchildren, Campbell, Charlotte, and Walker, siblings, John B. Rose, MD and Susan R. Behr, many nieces and nephews, and a treasured community of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or For the Love of Paws.
