Chester M. (“Chet”) Purdy, age 89, died at his home in Vero Palm Estates, Vero Beach, Florida, on January 27, 2018. He had been in care with VNA Hospice.
Chet served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, and worked in the petroleum equipment industry, owning his own distributorship, Purdy Equipment, Inc., in Montpelier, VT, until his retirement to Florida.
Survivors include four of his five children, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog. Chet was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Croft Purdy, and his second wife, Ruth Fisher Purdy, and his eldest son.
