Chris “Coach” Lewis of Vero Beach, FL formerly of Beverly and Hamilton Massachusetts passed away on September 17, 2016.
Chris was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Cleo (Papanicolou) and Stephen Lewis.
He was a dedicated educator and coach for 35 years in Lynn and Beverly, MA. His love for teaching and coaching continued after retirement to Vero Beach. He was the assistant varsity basketball coach, former girl’s basketball, middle school tennis, and 6th grade football coach at Saint Edwards School in Vero Beach for 15 years. His devotion to his family and students were his life.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and lived and loved his life to the fullest.
He leaves his devoted wife Diane Lewis – his children Christopher Lewis of MA, David Lewis of CT, Wendy Lewis Spence of NH and Laura Lewis Truncali and her husband Kristopher Truncali of CT, brothers George and wife Patricia Lewis of CA and Melvin Lewis of MA also his devoted cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his surrogate son, Darell Flowers.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Saint Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the D5 Alive Foundation Inc., 6150 45th St Vero Beach, FL 32967 in memory of Darell Flowers.
