Danny Ooley, 56, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away on March 24, 2026.
Danny was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, and spent his life devoted to his family. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, and brother who was cherished by all who knew him.
Danny was well known for his humor and laughter, and he had a special way of bringing joy to those around him. Above all else, his wife and daughters were what he treasured most in life.
Danny is survived by his wife of 16 years, Angie Ooley; his daughter, Melayna Ooley; and his stepdaughters, Tabitha Reis (Eric), Chelsea Lewis, and Holly Rubeor and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Randall and Mary Ooley; his brother, James Ooley (Brandi); his sister, Edith Powell (Skip); and many nieces and nephews.
Danny dedicated nearly 25 years of service to Indian River County, where he worked his way through the ranks to become Assistant Public Works Director. He was highly respected by his team and colleagues, and his leadership and commitment left a lasting impact on the community he served.
Danny will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Pathway Church, 1105 58th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32966.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

There are no words really to truly express the sadness & heartbreak this has cause so many including myself. I’ve known Danny almost my entire life & think of him as my older brother. To Angie, James, Randy, Mary & Edith and to all grieving, I am so truly sorry for this unimaginable loss. Just know you have an entire community behind you & will be there for you. I love you all like family & again I’m so sorry. Danny was & is an amazing person!!

My prayers and condolences goes out to the Ooley family! Danny was a great friend boss and person! Worked very hard and kept our department together! He was very funny and was always laughing but was definitely about business! This will definitely affect our department tremendously and Danny will definitely be missed! Each time Danny walked into the Budget office, it was great because we could always count on him to say something funny! He had the best smile, and we will miss him so much! Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers!
