David was born October 9, 1950 in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Panama City and later to Pensacola where David graduated from JM Tate High School in 1968. The family then moved to Vero Beach in 1970. After a few years with Southern Bell and Piper Aircraft, David became a roofing contractor and started Lowery Roofing. He remained a reputable and knowledgeable member of the roofing industry throughout his life. David spent the last couple of years mentoring his son Dillon and helped form Ridgeline Roofing to carry on the Lowery roofing tradition.
David was a caring and generous man and known for his great smile. He spent much of his time with his family and often bragged about his children and grandchildren and all of their achievements.
David was an avid fisherman and hunter. He often invited others to hunt with him in Alabama, creating such memorable stories for each person who took him up on his offer.
David is survived by his daughter Stephanie Lowery (Cheyne Hilliard) of Vero Beach, son Dillon Lowery of Vero Beach, son Chance Lowery of California, brother John Lowery of Alabama, sister Becky Seton of Vero Beach, sister Lisa Lowery of Ft. Pierce, grandson Tate Albritton (Miriam) of Naples, granddaughters Britney Lowery and Aiyana Hilliard of Vero Beach, grandsons Robbie Timmerman and Michael Lowery of Vero Beach, nieces Jennifer Penn (Shane) of Vero Beach and Alison Lowery of Apopka, nephew John Lowery Jr. (Lacy) of Alabama as well as great nieces and nephews and many many cousins.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Sybil Galloway Lowery and father, Robert Lowery, both of Vero Beach.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on October 10, 2020 at 2 p.m., at 700 21st Court, Vero Beach. We invite all of his family, friends, and colleagues to join us.
