Dominick LoDuca passed away comfortably in Vero Beach, FL, on March 13, 2021.  He was born to Paul and Vincenza LoDuca in Hammond, IN.  After graduating from high school, Dominick served in the United States Army working with nuclear weapons in New Mexico and Germany.  He earned his BS degree at Indiana University where lasting friendships were made and he met his wife. He remained an avid IU basketball fan. After retiring from RCI, he had time to do the things he loved which often involved vehicles, friends, family, travel, and food. Dominick had a passion for good food, wine, and cooking. He was pleased to host family and friends in his home. He enjoyed preparing lamb, pasta, waffles and was not afraid to try a new recipe. He had a love of cars and motorcycles. He was on call for questions and advice when friends and family were considering a new car. He loved Sunday motorcycle rides on curvy roads and the time to ride to motorcycle rallies in OR, MT, and WA. He enjoyed the trips to Sicily to visit his family.  Anticipating another trip, he did his Duolingo lessons faithfully every day for a year.  When he gave up motorcycling, he kept his friends and got his thrills from riding his bicycle 12-16 miles a day. He was always willing to do the research to make the perfect purchase whether it was car wax, a wallet, or an espresso machine.  He enjoyed life, wanted the best for everyone and tried to do his best. Dominick will be remembered for being opinionated, honest, loyal, and enthusiastic.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  Dominick was preceded in death by his parents and brother Pro LoDuca.  He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his brother’s son Paul (Kathy); cousin Mario Vitale; sister-in-laws Martha Simpson, Terry Wallace, Lu Pennal, Heidi Wallace; brother-in-laws Stan Mikosz, Andy Wallace; nieces and nephews; and his family in Sicily: Procopio and Maria Pia LoDuca, Suzanna and Giuseppe Impastato, Maria and Gaspare Vederame, Jerry and Anna LoDuca and all their children.

I will forever remember the wonderful motorcycle trip that Dom took me on from Indiana to Colorado in 2014. He was a much better rider than I was and he was very patient with me, a relatively new rider, tagging along. He showed me some breathtaking sights during the trip. Great moments with him!

O how he will be missed. When you thought about Dom you just wanted to smile. He was so full of life and just loved people. He often talked of his love for Jane his wife and would light up about her. He was so vibrant, so positive and delivered good vibes to all who came in contact. Dom your presence was bigger than life. All of the RCI friends are so sad. YOU WERE SO LOVED. RIP DOM – DIANA BRADBURY, CARMEL INDIANA.

I always considered Dominick my best friend back in the old days in “the region” and beyond. One of many fond memories is the driving trip we took to Philadelphia and New York with Dominick, Jane, and Barb. Dominick looked forward to walking to the bagel shop in Brooklyn first thing in the morning. Barb and I always looked forward to seeing Dominick and Jane when we made trips to Indianapolis. I like to think of Dominick now as my guardian angel.

We are saddened to hear of your loss. Dominick leaves a legacy that we can all take value from in our own lives and the way he approached it. We share many connections with you through our parents, our life in Indianapolis and then Florida. One sweet connection is that both Calvin and Emma completed the Free Wheelin’ build a bike program in Indy during our time there. An organization also close to our hearts. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Chris and Vicki Sofianos

I will fondly remember our biker coffee gatherings every Wednesday morning. I will always remember Dom’s cheerful participation, often with his hands. And, of course, trading tips about his various Apple devices. My life has been richer because of my friendship with Dom.

I was saddened to hear of Dom’s passing. He was a great presence in our Indy BMW club and I always enjoyed his smile and sense of excitement and fun at a campout, ride or meetup. He was always happy to share something to eat, drink, or a cigar with friends. I liked talking to him and learning things from him, as he was quite knowledgeable. He will be missed. God bless you and your family as you deal with this loss. You are in my prayers.

I am writing this on behalf of the Kappas at Indiana University where Don served as a waiter. He was loved by all the girls, one was lucky enough to marry him. One night he had all of us over to his place and served red wine. We were not “busted” and if we had been the cops would probably have been delighted that we were having fun the old fashioned way!

Oh, the smiles and miles we have shared over the years. There will be a forever be an empty campsite at rallies and around campfires. We will miss his humor, his straight forwardness and his valuable advice.
