Doris Rita Olsen, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully July 23, 2016.
She was born on October 6, 1926 to Henry and Corine Wernet in Toledo, Ohio.
Prior to moving to Vero Beach Doris was a resident of Ferndale and Royal Oak, Michigan. Her career passion was teaching. She spent over 20 years at Guardian Angels Catholic School, in Clawson, Michigan, teaching elementary school. She finished her professional career as a librarian at the Rochester Hills Public Library in Rochester, Michigan.
Doris was a loving mother of 5 children – Annetta Gregg (Jim), Eileen Burns (Ken), Mary Ketola (Bob), Catherine Rager (Les) and John Olsen.
She was a proud grandmother of 11 – Marcy (Joe), Corine (Teo), Patrick (Carolyn), Rob (Nancy), Amy (Blair), Becky (Steve), Angie (Jeff), John (Marianne), Marc, Daniel and Andrew. And great-grandmother to 16, who lovingly referred to her as �GG� and � Grandma Donuts�.
She is also survived by her brother Charles Wernet.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and sister Helen Kroes.
The family would like to thank The Florida Baptist Retirement Center for their compassionate and loving care during her final journey.
A celebration of her life will be held in Michigan at a later date.
