Edith Marie Rice, age 94, went home to the Lord on December 2nd, 2023.

She was born in Fort Pierce and grew up in Wabasso, Florida. Edith attended Vero Beach High School and was alumni of the Class of 1947. She was a graduate of Florida State University.

Edith was a Banker for more than 20 years.

She was a faithful and devoted charter member of Asbury Methodist Church. Edith volunteered many years at Friends of the Library Used Book Depot in Vero Beach, Fl.

Survivors include sons William Rice (Stephanie), and J. Patrick Rice (Barbara); daughters Deborah Green (Michael), and Mary Johnston; grandchildren Justin Green (Jaclyn), Kevin Green (Kristin), Patrick Rice (Summer), Lacey Bernheisel (David), Amber Mitchell (Brian), and Tyler Johnston (Kristian); eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Edith was predeceased by her husband of 70 years William Rice Sr., brother Julius Harms, and sister Irene Nelson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2023 at 2:00 pm, located at The Riverhouse, 305 Acacia Rd, Vero Beach, FL 32963.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Scholarship Foundation of Indian River, P.O. Box 1820 Vero Beach, Fl. 32960 for Wabasso Women Club Scholarships.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

This dear lady was a patient of mine before I retired and moved from Vero Beach.May her soul rest in peace in the arms of God.

I work with Edith at Florida National Bank. I have some great memories from our banking days. She lived a good life and will be greatly missed. Lifting her family up in my prayers.
